How to be Successful on Poshmark

Have you ever imagined making extra money without having to commute to an office, report to a boss or work a set schedule?

I’m sure you have, otherwise why else would you be reading this article.

How about I reword that question…

Did you ever think it was possible to make money online without having to invest too much of your time or money to get started?

Guess what?

It is possible and it’s easier than you probably think.

Success Tips

In this article we’ll dive into how you can be successful on Poshmark and start earning extra income while you sleep, watch tv or do anything but work.

Utilize Great Photos

Your photos should look great. They’ll be one of the primary drivers of sales. Clear and well-lit photos that show the item in its entirety will help it sell more quickly. Make sure shoppers can get a good sense of the quality of the item. Including photos of every angle of the item will help paint a clearer picture.

If you want to illustrate just how nice the button design is on one of your shirts, be sure to include a photo that’s zoomed-in on the button itself. I know it seems obvious, but details like this are often overlooked.

Poshmark has a no return policy, but if a customer receives an item that was misrepresented they have 3 days to inform Poshmark and be granted a return. As a successful Poshmark seller, the last thing you want to be dealing with is returns. For this reason alone, you should take our advice on the importance of great photos.

Capitalize on Your Descriptions

You’ve got some space to write about the product you’re selling, why not utilize as much of it as possible. State any flaws or signs of wear in the item. Include all sizing details that’ll be important to people shopping for the item (i.e. length, waist, bust, etc.). If you don’t have a tailor’s tape measure, we recommend you getting one. Use it so that you can give the most accurate description of your items’ measurements. Include the type of fabric and also some information on how to wash/care for the clothing.

Oh, and don’t forget to have some fun with this. Make use of emoji’s, adjectives and brand names to help with showing in the search results for the various keywords that a user is searching with.

Share Your Items Daily

Try to share your items on a daily basis. This can definitely get tedious, there’s no doubt about it. But, the benefits of sharing your items daily far outweigh never sharing them at all, or even only sharing them once a week. This will help keep your listings fresh and appear at the top of the search results.

Share Other Seller’s Listings

Find sellers with more followers with you and share their items. If you do this on a regular basis, you’ll find that they’ll begin to share your items too. Don’t share all of their items, but share ones that have a similar style to your closet. It’s important that you keep a common theme in your closet (this will help with creating repeat customers).

Frequently Add Items to Your Closet

Add new items regularly. If you add new items on a daily, weekly or bi-weekly basis, you’ll find that you get fresh eyes on your closet (and in turn, increase the amount of sales you’re making).

If I have 7 new items to add for the coming week, I may only add 1 or 2 items per day.

Don’t be Afraid to Say No

Users on Poshmark are big negotiators. Oftentimes buyers will comment with low-ball offers. Don’t be afraid to counter their offer or straight-up decline it if it’s really low.

Don’t waste your time on people who aren’t serious about buying your product. It’ll cost you more money in stress and headaches than it will make you any money.

Your store is on your terms, certainly not the terms of your buyer’s. Save time and become more successful on Poshmark by rejecting bad offers.
